Residents' parking permits

How to apply for a residents' parking permit in Aldershot or Farnborough.

If you live in a property, which is in a residents' parking scheme area, you can apply for a permit to park near your home.

To find out if your home is in a residents' parking scheme area, please see our pdf icon permit zones [101kb] document.

The number of permits we issue is based on the number of off-street parking spaces available at each property. Because of the number of spaces available, in some areas there is a maximum of one permit per property.

A permit does not mean you have a specific place to park. It only allows you to park in the area, if there is space.

If you are unable to complete an application for a permit, or you are unable to complete a visitors scratch card and a third party cannot complete it on your behalf, please contact our Parking team using the contact details on this page.

If you have a motorcycle, you will still need to display a valid parking permit.  You can display the permit in a secure holder attached to the motorcycle, which is very similar to a tax disc holder for bikes.

Applying for a residents' parking permit

To apply for a permit, you will need to provide proof that you live at the address you give, if your details are not on our council tax register.

We will accept any one of the following as proof of your address:

  • Household bill (no older than three months)
  • Bank statement (no older than three months)
  • Tenancy agreement or solicitor's letter confirming a recent house purchase/lease

You will also need to provide your vehicle registration document (V5C) as proof of ownership and to confirm that the vehicle is registered to the address.

If you have two vehicles and are applying for two permits or you park one on-street and one off-street, you will need to provide the vehicle registration documents for both vehicles.

When your permit is printed, it will contain your vehicle registration number, as the permit is only valid for the vehicle for which you have applied.

To accept our offer, please use the link provided in our email to pay.  Once we have received your payment, we will print and post your permit to you.
