Rushmoor in Bloom Competition 2010
The competition is free and open to all Rushmoor residents and businesses. The Rushmoor in Bloom competition is an important part of the South and South East in Bloom campaign and during the summer attractive planting and floral displays boost our streets and neighbourhoods.
Every household entering the competition can claim a FREE pair of gardening gloves from Squire's at Badshot Lea Garden Centre. Squire's also donate prizes for the awards evening. The deadline for entering the competition has now passed.
Judging- Judges are members of the Rushmoor in Bloom forum and keen gardeners.
- Judging will be between the 28 June and 9 July.
- Judges will contact all entrants to let them know when they will be visiting.
- Gold, silver gilt, silver and bronze awards, will be awarded in line with RHS standards. The entry with the most points in each category will be specially recognised.
- A tour of the best entries will take place on 20 July 2010.
- Entrants will be invited to the Princes Hall to receive their awards on Monday, 27 September 2010
Judging Criteria
- Use of space available
- Plant associations / colour schemes
- Effort and resources available
- Layout and quality of plants / shrubs / trees
- Impact and lack of litter
- Sustainable planting
- Community entries – all of the above plus how many people from the community were involved
- Waterwise - we are encouraging all entrants to reduce the amount of drinkable water used.
- The judges' decision is final
