Getting out on your bike in Rushmoor

There are lots of safe routes to get you out an about locally without the hassle of traffic. These include:

  • The many off-road and shared paths around Farnborough
  • The shared pathway along the A325 between Aldershot and Farnborough
  • The cycle routes around the airport perimeter
  • The roads around the Army golf course
  • Southwood Woodland
  • Basingstoke canal towpath
  • The Blackwater Valley path

Most of these routes are accessible on a hybrid type bike, and many on a road bike.

If you have a mountain bike, you would also be able to explore a little further taking in Caesars Camp, and Wellesley Woodlands.

Breeze cycle rides (women only)

New to Aldershot and Farnborough are Breeze cycle rides for women only. Our local trained champions take you out on local led rides starting and finishing at Farnborough Library, with coffee afterwards at the Fab cafĂ© in the library.

The rides are generally on the last and middle Saturdays of each month. Throughout the summer, we are also offer monthly mid-week rides. The length of rides are usually between ten and 14 miles and are mainly suited to either mountain or hybrid bikes. In 2017, we are going to run additional rides for cyclists with road bikes; this ride maybe faster and longer.
