Apprenticeships

Could your business offer a young person the chance to earn whilst they learn?

An apprenticeship is a way for young people and adult learners to earn while they learn in a real job, gaining a real qualification and a real future. Hiring apprentices helps businesses to grow their own talent by developing a motivated, skilled and qualified workforce.

Depending on the age of the apprentice, government funding can cover up to 100 per cent of the training costs. Businesses with up to 1,000 employees, who have not recruited an apprentice in the past 12 months, can claim a £1,500 grant if they recruit a 16 to 24-year-old apprentice. Other grants are available - see the National Apprenticeship Service website for more information.

To find out more about apprenticeships, visit the National Apprenticeship Service website or call 0800 0150 600.
