Housing density and design - supplementary planning document

As part of the Rushmoor Plan, we have produced a supplementary planning document (SPD) for housing density and design.

We adopted this document in April 2006.

This SPD aims to promote well-designed housing at an appropriate density for the location of new development.

Key factors in deciding whether a development proposal is acceptable are:

  • Impact on biodiversity
  • Provision and layout of car parking
  • Spacing between buildings
  • Loss of trees and other amenity areas
  • Impact on neighbours and the wider area

The density permitted is dependent on the character of the area.

This SPD does not impose detailed design control.
