Riding establishment licence

To run a riding school - where you hire out horses for riding or use them for riding instruction - you need a licence from us.

A horse includes any mare, gelding, pony, foal, colt, filly, stallion, ass, mule or jennet.

The Riding Establishments Act 1964 regulates this licence.

You may need to get planning permission. Contact Planning using the details on the right.
