About the Rushmoor in Bloom competition

Do you have a garden or a floral display that really makes you proud? Our annual Rushmoor In Bloom is a fun, free and rewarding competition for you.

There are 13 categories to enter, ranging from Best Front Garden to Most Improved Wildlife Garden. Whether you are a seasoned gardener or beginning your gardening journey, we love receiving your entries.

If you are thinking of entering for the first time, please do so, as all first time entrants will also be entered into the Best Newcomer category.

2018 Rushmoor in Bloom competition

Entries are now open for our 2018 competition. Entries close on Monday 18 June at 5pm

Judging will take place between Monday 2 July and Saturday 14 July. A finals day tour is held on Thursday 19 July (Judges will contact you if your entry is to be included in the tour).

All entrants are invited to attend an annual awards ceremony at the Princes Hall, Aldershot in September where the results will be announced.

Awards and judging criteria

We award gold, silver gilt, silver and bronze prizes, with special recognition for the best entry in each category.

We score entries on the following criteria:

  • Impact
  • Quality and maintenance of the plants / shrubs/trees
  • Use of space
  • Effort and resources available
  • Community entries - all the above and evidence of community involvement
  • Waterwise - all entrants are encouraged to reduce the amount of drinkable water used
