Recycling in flats

You can still recycle if you live in a flat or have shared recycling facilities.

If you share your recycling facilities, it is even more important that you know which household items can be recycled. This will avoid contamination and make it easier for your neighbours to recycle too.

For a full list of items, see our what you can put in your blue recycling bin page.

Most flats have large rubbish and recycling bins that are shared. We empty your rubbish bins weekly and your recycling bins fortnightly.

To check your collection day, use our In my area feature.

A reminder about rubbish

  • All rubbish must be stored inside the bins.
  • Please do not leave rubbish bags on the floor, because we will not collect them and they may attract vermin.

Glass recycling

Many flats now have purple wheeled bins for glass. For further information, visit our glass recycling page.

Recycling bags

We provide reusable recycling bags to homes with shared recycling bins. You can use the handy little recycling bag to store recycling in your home before taking it to the bins to be emptied.

Other recycling facilities

There are many other recycling facilities in Rushmoor. Please see our bottle banks and recycling points page for more information.
